What You Need to Know

The COVID-19 Outbreak is truly unprecedented and we must all take extra precaution to help stop the spread of the illness. As an essential business in Ontario, we remain committed to serving you while keeping you informed of the actions we’re taking to support your health and safety. Please see below for important updates and the renewed steps we’re taking to better assist you.

As an essential business, operating under the manufacturing exemption, we will remain open based on the guidelines set by the Ontario Government issued on April 3, 2020:

  • 23. Businesses that extract, manufacture, process and distribute goods, products, equipment and materials, including businesses that manufacture inputs to other manufacturers, (e.g. primary metal/ steel, blow molding, component manufacturers, chemicals, etc. that feed the end-product manufacturer), regardless of whether those other manufacturers are inside or outside of Ontario, together with businesses that support and facilitate the movement of goods within integrated North American and global supply chains.
  • 32. Businesses that provide and ensure the domestic and global continuity of supply of resources, including mining, forestry, aggregates, petroleum, petroleum by-products and chemicals.

As concerned citizens, we recognize the severity of our current situation and we fully support the Provincial Government’s efforts to curb the infection rate of COVID-19. But we must also acknowledge the necessity of our business given that we support an integral function in the global supply of precious metals. For example, at least 25% of the world’s supply of gold is derived from recycled jewellery and scrap gold, while scrap silver accounts for up to 13.5% of the global supply. Both metals are not only used extensively in jewellery, but they are also critical components in technologies such as microchips and solar panels.

We also realize our role in supporting the financial needs of some of our customers during this difficult time. Our business will continue to assist you while maintaining the highest standards of health and safety.

Until further notice, we will be open  (BY APPOINTMENT ONLY) from Monday to Saturday from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm and on Sunday from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm. You may book an appointment by clicking here.

To ensure the utmost in health and safety, we at Toronto Gold have increased the frequency of sanitizing our office place and have taken appropriate measures to ensure the safety of our customers and staff.

Until conditions improve, our office will only be servicing two clients at a time with a max capacity of 5 customers in the store at any time.  For all clients, we ask that you maintain at least a two meter distance away from each other. As per Toronto By-Laws, please wear a face-mask while you are inside the store. For persons who cannot wear a face mask due to a medical condition, they must wear a face shield. Only children under the age of 2 are exempt. Entry to Toronto Gold will be granted only to those wearing a face mask or face shield.

In consideration of the health and safety of others around you, please refrain from entering the store if you are exhibiting any symptoms of illness (cold, cough, runny nose, etc.) or have traveled either domestically or internationally within the last 14 days. If anyone in your immediate contacts are ill or have recently traveled, we urge that you please remain at home. Our staff reserves the right to refuse service to those who show symptoms.
